History Milestones: Who invented the car?
The dawning of the era of technology proves to be the greatest time of inventions,
creations and innovations. Who would have thought that once, this world filled of massive dinosaurs and plethora of
ancient animals living in vast jungles would now become an urban jungle. Plates and slabs of steel rising
everywhere, with high-technology precision and speed, cars made of different kinds of metals running smoothly and
steadily in style and speed everywhere, transferring and transporting humans and things from one place to another
in just a matter of moments.
The question of who invented the car formulates answers providing different geniuses throughout time who created
and defined the world of automobiles. With his wild imaginations, Leonardo da Vinci created transportation designs
in the 15th century. Even if it was primitive back then, it showed that man dreamed of wonders far beyond his
imagination that man can be transported in other places using mechanics and utilizing speed on the road.
Nicolas Cugnot, a French military engineer brought these design to life by creating the first steam-powered
vehicle which was used for the purpose of moving heavy artillery and weapons in war. It was slow for its purpose
but it gave the small world a view of what engines and automobiles can do and offer.
Attributed greatly in modern society as to who invented the car is Karl Benz in 1885. With steam engine,
electricity and oil a century after the steam vehicle by Cugnot was created, Benz applied internal combustion
theories in his automobiles which is now the basis of the modern car we use today. With the help of Benz, the
automobiles, or cars, that ran and we use today, is one of the best inventions in the world which truly contributed
to the great uses of mankind. At least 25 automobiles by Benz were built and sold then by 1893. Fellow German
Gottleib Daimler also worked on creating an automobile at the about the same time as Benz did, but Benz who
usefully applied internal combustion in his inventions and which was more functional in powering automobiles was
dubbed as the inventor of modern automobiles.
Instead of steam, modern-day automobiles presently use gasoline which causes air pollution and further worsens
climate change and global warming. Although the use of automobile is greatly essential in our modern day world,
people must know of its effects coming from fuel emissions of the automobiles and should now regulate or use saving
techniques to have a cleaner and safer environment.
Greater designs and upgrades on models of cars have now been conceptualized and created to suit man's needs.
Sleeker and faster, cars of today have resembled futuristic designs in which man cannot imagine in their wildest
dreams. But whatever car you have, whatever design it is, whether a Benz, a Daimler or a Ford, truly the brilliance
of whether Cugnot, Benz or Daimler shall forever hold history as the ones who brought to life the creations in
which man is able to transport itself and his belongings to different areas in this urban jungle.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #1
No matter what anybody tells you, there is not yet a water powered car in production. That is an urban myth that
reached its peak with Stanley Meyer who claimed that he drove one hundred miles using only four ounces of water (he
was later convicted of fraud). The water powered engine hasn't even been invented yet. Scientists are still trying
to figure out if it is even possible.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #2
Many major car manufacturers are embracing the idea of the hydrogen car. BMW hopes to release a hydrogen car to
the public by 2008 (or 2010 at the latest) and other manufacturers like Toyota are also making plans to release
hydrogen car lines. Of course the debate over using hydrogen in cars is still raging and nothing has been settled
yet.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #3
While both a water based engine and a hydrogen engine will do wonders for fuel emissions and the environment,
one of the major reasons people want them is to improve their fuel mileage. Of course, gas mileage can be improved
right now. You can improve your gas mileage drastically just by driving sensibly and making sure your car is
maintained properly.
