Going Behind The Scenes For Future Fuels
Never in the history of our planet has the goal to find sustainable and clean future fuels been so intense.
Industries solely committed to finding affordable and energy efficient future fuels are cropping up as never
before. Man needs to find alternative ways to power his world as the fossil fuels we have long depended upon cannot
sustain future generations and the issues of what these fuel methods do to the environment and the climate can no
longer be ignored.
Hydrogen as Future Fuels
Many respected scientists and researchers with great funding from car manufacturing companies as well as others
are turning from ethanol and setting their sights on hydrogen as future fuels. Hydrogen power is clean and
completely renewable. Hydrogen fuel cells are being researched in order to apply them to the transportation
industry and at present is one of the future fuels that seem to be within the human grasp.
Solar Power
The consequences are grave with the world depending on fossil fuels for their energy sources. Solar power that
is harnessed with panels for just that purpose can provide a home with nearly all the power it needs to live day to
day. Though expensive to install at present, solar panels will soon be within the average consumer’s grasp in the
coming years as more research and development to implement this not so new technology is being done.
Future Fuels such as Wind Power
Getting our energy needs from wind seems to be a logical answer to the growing need to find future fuels. Wind
is free and it is in abundance. The drawback to this type of future fuel is that large turbines need to be
constructed and many are worried about how the landscape will change because of them. They are presently working on
shore wind power as the coastline is a Mecca for wind and if a way can be found to harness the wind for energy it
will be cheap and fully sustainable future fuels.
Our Good Friend Water
In the past many farmers and craftsman used water power for their energy needs. Hydroelectric plants can be
future fuel stations where we can once again use the clean and renewable sources of water to power our world. Mills
for processing corn and wheat were powered by water as can be seen in some relics of the colonial past. There is no
reason that researcher can’t find a more efficient way to use water as future fuels.
Solid Oxide Fuel Cells
The power of solid oxide fuel cells comes from temperatures that are high which in turn create energy by
oxidizing fuel gas in a mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen. This process for future fuels takes carbon
monoxide and converts it to carbon dioxide which in turn creates an environment that is safer for those cells that
are prone to poisoning by carbon monoxide.
Future fuels depend on research and research needs money. More large corporations and private patrons are giving
money to the research and development of sustainable and renewable future fuels so that our natural world can
survive the onslaught of the human race.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #1
No matter what anybody tells you, there is not yet a water powered car in production. That is an urban myth that
reached its peak with Stanley Meyer who claimed that he drove one hundred miles using only four ounces of water (he
was later convicted of fraud). The water powered engine hasn't even been invented yet. Scientists are still trying
to figure out if it is even possible.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #2
Many major car manufacturers are embracing the idea of the hydrogen car. BMW hopes to release a hydrogen car to
the public by 2008 (or 2010 at the latest) and other manufacturers like Toyota are also making plans to release
hydrogen car lines. Of course the debate over using hydrogen in cars is still raging and nothing has been settled
yet.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #3
While both a water based engine and a hydrogen engine will do wonders for fuel emissions and the environment,
one of the major reasons people want them is to improve their fuel mileage. Of course, gas mileage can be improved
right now. You can improve your gas mileage drastically just by driving sensibly and making sure your car is
maintained properly.
