If you're not a 'car' person, you're probably wondering what fuel injectors are and why cleaning fuel injectors are important. So, for the uninitiated, let's begin with the 'what' before we go to the 'why' and 'how'.
The small engine that injects fuel to the other parts of the car where that fuel needs to go is the fuel injector. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to understand why it's called that. The fuel injector also filters out debris that can be harmful to the engine and it allows the engine to use the filtered fuel correctly.
So why is why cleaning fuel injectors important? All car enthusiasts will tell you that the only way for you to ensure good mileage as well as excellent car engine condition is to be vigilant when it comes to proper car maintenance. Cleaning fuel injectors should be part of your regular scheduled maintenance. Cars work properly and get the best mileage if the fuel injector is cleaned properly.
Everybody is probably thinking that cleaning fuel injectors is a tedious job and having it done by an expert will be the best thing to do. The truth of the matter is, cleaning fuel injectors is really very easy to do. It is however important that you have your car engine as well as your fuel injector serviced by experts every year. The mechanic can then check the filters, o-rings and other parts of the fuel injector that has wore out already.
For cleaning fuel injectors properly, you will need a cleaning kit. By finding the best fuel injector cleaner for your car, you can make sure that the cleaning process works. Start by locating the fuel and making sure it will not go through the injector when you start the car. You can do this by taking out the fuel pump or using tubing to go around the fuel injector. You then hook up the cleaners to the fuel injector. After making sure that you correctly attached the cleaner, you just start the engine and wait until the solvent completely passes through the injector. Unhook the cleaners and start your engine. If there is no significant change, just repeat the process. This is called the in-tank method of cleaning fuel injectors. It's not difficult, right?
If, however, you are not comfortable cleaning fuel injectors yourself or if you do not see any significant change on your engine's performance after you cleaned your injector using the in-tank method, you may have to bring your car to a professional to have it checked. In addition to having your injector cleaned and tested using a special technique, the mechanic can also identify which parts of your fuel injector needs to be replaced. Getting your injector replaced at least once a year is also advisable.
Getting your fuel injector cleaned is not a difficult process but always make sure to identify which of the many cleaners is best suited for your car model. Just remember that one of the most important maintenance every car owner should know is cleaning fuel injectors because it saves you time and money.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #1
No matter what anybody tells you, there is not yet a water powered car in production. That is an urban myth that reached its peak with Stanley Meyer who claimed that he drove one hundred miles using only four ounces of water (he was later convicted of fraud). The water powered engine hasn't even been invented yet. Scientists are still trying to figure out if it is even possible. |

BMW hopes to release a hydrogen car to the public by 2008 (or 2010 at the latest) and other manufacturers like Toyota are also making plans to release hydrogen car lines. Of course the debate over using hydrogen in cars is still raging and nothing has been settled yet. |
