It is thought that by the year 2020 that a familiar sight along the highways and byways of the United States and the rest of the world will be hydrogen powered cars. Technology concerning this alternative fuel source is well on its way to creating hydrogen powered cars that will be well within reach price wise for the average consumer.
Fossil Fuel Alternatives
Though wind farms and solar energy are excellent sources for alternative fuels, they may never be ready to be used to power a car in our lifetime. Wind farms need huge turbines to generate power and solar power needs panels to convert the rays of the sun into usable fuel sources. Nuclear power is another fuel alternative but because of the great fear associated with this alternative fuel source, not much is being done in the way of creating usable technology with it at the moment.
The Car Manufacturers Quest to Deliver Hydrogen Powered Cars
Not only should the high price of oil be considered when searching for alternative energy sources for both transportation and every day living, but oil is not a sustainable fossil fuel and once reserves are used up there will be no more of it to harvest. Car manufacturers are looking further than hybrid cars to create and design hydrogen powered cars that will have no need of petroleum to make them run.
Just think if all the world used hydrogen powered cars. There would be no more thick smog hanging over populated cities where the automobile is used to get to and from a variety of places. There would only be harmless water vapor emitted into the air from hydrogen powered cars.
Any vehicle from a motorized scooter to the big jumbo jets, have the ability to run on hydrogen. A hydrogen powered car is run on a fuel cell where chemicals such as oxygen and hydrogen are converted into electricity. What a marvelous breakthrough for the global population if everyone drove hydrogen powered cars. Water is an environmentally friendly element and can change the face of global warming for good.
Hydrogen is an Ancient Element
It has been said that the sun is almost 75 percent hydrogen. It has been the power of life on earth since time began. The first hydrogen powered car was created in Germany during the 1950s though using hydrogen powered motors can find their roots in the early 19th century. Hydrogen must be created for hydrogen powered cars to run, and there are a number of fossil fuels such as burning coal or natural gas to get it. These are not renewable sources of alternative energy; instead science is focusing on renewable or green energy sources from which hydrogen powered cars can run.
At present, in Japan and across Europe, citizens can make use of hydrogen powered cars, and it won’t be very long before the United States catches up with the technology necessary to have hydrogen powered cars in each and every garage.
Cars That Run on Water Tip #1
No matter what anybody tells you, there is not yet a water powered car in production. That is an urban myth that reached its peak with Stanley Meyer who claimed that he drove one hundred miles using only four ounces of water (he was later convicted of fraud). The water powered engine hasn't even been invented yet. Scientists are still trying to figure out if it is even possible. |
Cars That Run on Water Tip #2
Many major car manufacturers are embracing the idea of the hydrogen car. BMW hopes to release a hydrogen car to the public by 2008 (or 2010 at the latest) and other manufacturers like Toyota are also making plans to release hydrogen car lines. Of course the debate over using hydrogen in cars is still raging and nothing has been settled yet. |
Cars That Run on Water Tip #3
While both a water based engine and a hydrogen engine will do wonders for fuel emissions and the environment, one of the major reasons people want them is to improve their fuel mileage. Of course, gas mileage can be improved right now. You can improve your gas mileage drastically just by driving sensibly and making sure your car is maintained properly. |
